What Do I EAT!?

Ok, so I have to really LEARN what to eat and what not to eat!! I am going to do some RESEARCH! I am pre-diabetic and prone to stroke... so this is not only about my weight... this is about my HEALTH. I WANT to live a LONG and HAPPY life! This means I MUST get HEALTHY!

I have read ALL the diet books... but I feel like they are all either the same or completely different! So, I think I could take some stuff from each of them in order to eat really healthy. My problems though are this:


  1. I LOVE SUGAR! I have to stop eating sugar though, because I don't want my PRE-diabetes to turn into FULL-BLOWN diabetes!
  2. I LOVE BREAD! This is the same as number one, since bread turns to sugar in the body!
  3. I LOVE COFFEE! But not just coffee... I like a little coffee with my cream and sugar!
  4. I LOVE DIET COKE!! True, it is DIET, but I am thinking carbonation probably isn't so good for me...
  5. I AM LAZY!! I am... I don't DO much... 
So, here is where I am going to start, AFTER the 1st of the year!!! Too much temptation before that! :/

  • DRINK WATER: 8-8 ounce glasses plus 8 ounces for each 10 lbs overweight = 120 ounces per day
  • GIVE UP SUGAR: This is going to be tough, but I am going to detox off of sugar. 
  • REDUCE WHEAT CONSUMPTION: Again, this will be tough, but I think I can do it.
  • REDUCE COFFEE CONSUMPTION: Ok, I am ADDICTED to Starbucks and I don't want to give it up, so I will just reduce my coffee consumption to one or less cups per day.
  • REDUCE POP CONSUMPTION: Again, reduces to one or less cups per day.
  • MOVE MORE!!: I will be doing the following on the Xbox 360 every day:
    • Zumba
    • Dance Central
    • Just Dance 4

Monday... blech!

Well, last week was a whirlwind... I had my birthday last Sunday and it was good. The beginning sucked and the end sucked, but the middle was fantastic and compared to all my other birthdays in the past 20 years, it was much better!!:) This weekend was fabulous! My husband came home! And although I am still guarding my heart a bit waiting for the other shoe to drop, we had a great weekend Christmas shopping and just loving on each other!

I ate horribly plus it's that time of the month, so I am really bloated and retaining water! YUCK!! So, I gained weight. Blech!


And this is why I am fat! LOL Our clinic has lunch catered in 3 days a week! Today was Backyard Burgers! YUM and not good at the same time!!;) I am still doing Slimfast shakes for breakfast so that helps. 
Things I need to work on this week:

  • Drink more water!!!
  • Eat smaller portions
  • Do more Zumba - I did one time last week, so I have to do at least 2 times this week! That seems fair right?

What's with Today, Today?

So, I haven't started this diet thing yet... why, you ask? I have no clue... other than my life is just in shambles right now. 2 months ago, my husband of 20 years left me for a girl he works with. The last 2 months have been absolute hell. He moved out, we are sharing the boys, one week with me, one week with him. He wants to remain friends. Some days I can handle that, some days I can't. We talked about getting back together early on, but it didn't happen. We are now talking about it again. It's hard to just let go after 20 years of marriage and 23 years being best friends. The thing is, I don't want to lose who I am, who I have become, who I am becoming. I am getting a little stronger every day, and I don't want that to change. I CAN live without him... I just don't really want to. I do love him still, and probably will forever. I just want it to be right.

Anyway, so, it's been really hard to get STARTED dieting again. I eat sporadically, like last night, I didn't really have a lot of food in the house, so I got Taco Bell for the boys and got myself a vanilla Diet Coke from Sonic... that was my dinner... I was starving this morning so I swung through McD's and got sausage McMuffins and a frappe. Not a good choice!! I have to start having more healthy choices in the house, like fruits and vegetables! And I have to start exercising!!

The weekend will be spent as follows:
Tonight: Hanging with the boys!

Saturday: The boys are going to the barn so I will be designing a photo album and maybe working on some Christmas presents.

Sunday: It's my birthday!!:) My theory: If 40 is the new 30, then I will only be 29!! ;) My husband and the boys are taking me out for the day on the town! Starbucks, shopping at Zona Rosa, and Minskey's Pizza!! Can't wait!!:)

So, the weekend is kind of blown as far as dieting... so Monday is the day!! I NEED to do this!!

Hello, is it me you're looking for....

Welcome to the blog of 2 Giddy Girls!
Just so you know, right from the beginning, we are not your average girls.
We're superheros. Honestly.

Alright alright!  Let's get down to business now.
We are not so much girls as we are women (yes, you will hear us roar) 
in the Kansas City metro area.

Rachel is a pastor's wife and stay at home mother of two girls in her mid-twenties on the KS side,
while Stephanie is a working mother of three boys and photographer extraordinaire on the MO side.

After experiencing life's ups and downs and having both recently had
life changing experiences, we have decided to change our lives.

We will be posting our journey as we each lose weight with struggles and victories.
Also, we each have different goals, dreams and desires we wish to see come true to help us become
the women WE want to be.
